REVIEW : The Statistical Probability of Love at First by Jennifer E.Smith

Title : The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight

Author : Jennifer E.Smith

Genre: YA Contemporary Romance

Star Rating: 4 ****

Goodreads Synopsis
Four minutes changes everything. Hadley Sullivan 17 misses her flight at JFK airport, is late to her father's second wedding in London with never-met stepmother. Hadley meets the perfect boy. Oliver is British, sits in her row. A long night on the plane passes in a blink, but the two lose track in arrival chaos. Can fate bring them together again?

I decided to pick up this book only because it was cheap on The Book People. I hadn't really intended on picking this book up because I find romance books and particularly YA romance books, very cringy and unrealistic and I just tend to stay away from them. However, it was £2.00 for a hardcover so I thought, why not?

When I received the book in the mail I was in the middle of a reading slump and I just wanted a quick read so I looked at this book and I thought, I'll give it ago.... and then I didn't put it down. I read this book in just under a day which is surprising considering I don't usually read this kind of book but, I loved every second of it.

This book follows the story of Hadley and Oliver who get put next to each other on a flight from JFK to London and how their relationship progresses over such a short period of time. Usually, I don't enjoy instalove but, the way that the author wrote it made the relationship totally believable and very realistic. I found myself rooting for them the entire time.

This book is perfect if your trying to get out of a reading slump. It's quick and addictive and the story is perfect if your in a lovey dovey mood. I loved the characters of Oliver and Hadley and for a short story their characters developed really well and they were very convincing. The way in which Jennifer E. Smith carries out her stories is fantastic. She creates a very believable story with a very basic plot and her writing is beautiful also. I can't wait to read more of her work!

My only criticism is that I would have liked some of the book to have been developed a little more but, it was nothing major and I would definitely recommend this to anyone thats looking to get out of a reading slump or it just feeling a little lovey dovey!

I hope you enjoyed this review!
